Jane Collins has a history of being an enthusiastic sportswoman, from representing her region in Netball, Discus, Javelin and Duathlon as a teenager to becoming a keen tennis player and running three world-class marathons and completing five London Moonwalks in later life.
Jane has created a specialist practice that caters both for people with sports injuries and for people with chronic conditions that affect their quality of life.
Jane opened her clinic in 2006 and now, with the acquisition of constant clinical experience, she follows the philosophy that recognisable results and bespoke exercise not only benefits the physical condition, but also helps the patient’s mental and psychosocial well-being.
She is one of the few sole practitioners using low-level laser and radio frequency therapies and has pioneered her own combination of manual therapies and leading-edge technology with clinical exercise programmes, to deliver swift and effective improvement.

Professional Achievements
In 2016 Jane undertook a ground-breaking programme of research on the benefits of Pilates exercises to combat low back pain, the first to consider both specific and non-specific conditions. She recruited participants from the UK, Canada, Australia, and the USA and was invited to present her project at the 10th Interdisciplinary Global Congress on Low Back Pain, a major international medical congress held in Antwerp in the autumn of 2019.
Her research concluded that clinical Pilates is suitable for both specific and non-specific conditions and that patients be prescribed Pilates exercise-based therapy programmes conducted ideally on machines in a clinical environment, with a prescribed regularity of once or twice a week.
