Good posture and balance are essential for the efficient performance of simple daily tasks – even walking - as well as more complex movements. It will improve your stability and mobility and prevent many forms of back and neck pain.


Why is good posture and balance important?

Good posture helps you to be balanced andmaintain correct deportment while exercising or even just walking, lifting, rising from a chair or going up and down stairs. Standing straight ensures that your bodyweight is equally centred, which reduces the possibility of falls and injuries and will improve your stability and mobility and prevent many forms of back and neck pain.

How are posture and balance issues treated?

Most common treatments involve exercise, but it is first essential to understand what is causing your poor posture. Is it habit or is it a musculoskeletal issue that is forcing your body to take that attitude? Jane will undertake this assessment, treat the issue with physical therapy or new technology and prescribe posture and balance exercise programmes that will build strength where needed and relieve tight muscles. These exercises will also contribute to increasing your core strength and flexibility which will improve your posture
